Size matters: small is beautiful

Despite its small size, The Netherlands boasts a rich variety of sights and attractions that make it a worthwhile destination for photographers. Actually, thanks to its small size and its well-developed public transport system, it is very easy to travel around the country. It will take you less than 4,5 hours to get from the north of the country to the south by train, and even less to get from the west to the east.

With its wealth of historical architecture, Amsterdam will be on every photographer’s list – but smaller (and less crowded) cities like Utrecht, Leiden, and Haarlem offer equally picturesque canal views. Stay tuned for more city guides as I continue to build this website!

If you prefer nature photography, you’ll find plenty of places to your liking as well in the Netherlands – whether it is on the forest-rich hills of The Veluwe or in one of the many city parks the country has to offer. Just bear in mind that the weather in the Netherlands is highly changeable, so I recommend flexible day-to-day planning to get the best photos.
